Wow...That really was sick and disturbing. At least I was warned. You did a good job adjusting the writing style: Vocabulary, punctuation, etc., as the girls fell deeper into the drugs' effects. I'm guessing this was influenced largely by "Flowers for Algernon" ? It was a well written story, but just too depressing to be enjoyable.
Please give the authors feedback, I can not emphasize enough how important it is to them.
