Impressive But

I have mixed feelings about this one, because I want to like it, but I'm just not sure I can commit to being fully positive here.
Let's start with the length this bad boy runs at 320 MS Word pages. Its novel size.
If you took all the BE and beautification sections together and rolled it into a 20 page story, it would arguably be one of the best submissions here. But instead these scenes are frustratingly spaced out with multiple pages of admittedly interesting plotting, but it's difficult to recommend as a BE story if you have to scroll through 30 pages at a time to get to them. So it has a pacing problem in this aspect.
The writing is really solid, at times top notch, with very clever plot play, but at times seems to get lost in its own cleverness the whole story could've been whittled down to half its length and it would improve immensely.
The characters are really outstanding, fitting the whole 80s movie isekai shtick. They do the lion's share of the work of holding the 320 page book together.
There may be a few soldiers on here who will have the patience to enjoy this one, so to you, I say happy reading.
