LOL!!! it is a DND style setting. I noticed because 1. the name Everwynd nights? lol, the game neverwinter nights is a DND style. And i played (long time ago) Bauldurs Gate 2, the rings are all like that and the style to identify the magical items.

Great start. Nice character development. Creative. Nice to see an author take time to set the stage (which makes the payoff all the more worthwhile!). Looking forward to more installments.

Only a little BE. Just a few errors. I liked the story, but it's incomplete -- that's why I gave it such ratings. It'd be much easier on the reader if, at the start, the author gave the info that this is just the first chapter, and is not yet complete.

Very nice, I hope you keep on writing this! It was very detailed overall and the characters were more three dimensional than you usually get around here.
Also, I am hopelessly enchanted by sword and sorcery settings, even if they're not BE stories. It was all the damsel in distress things from when I was little, I think.
