I liked it. However, in typical supervillain style, Lex failed to do what he should have done in the first place: pulverize the stone into dust and cause PowerGirl to inhale it. She wouldn't have been able to get away from it then. ;) Only when the dust granules were spread so far apart in her body as to reduce the concentration to where the effect was sufficiently damped would she have stopped growing -- and who knows where THAT point would occur. ;)
Hmm. Maybe pulverized kryptonite dust should make it into the Things to Do When Being an Evil Overlord.

I suspect those who don't know who Powergirl is will have no idea why this scene strikes such a strong chord with those who *do* know who Powergirl is...I thought it was a great idea, and well executed.

It doesn't really do justice to the amount of attention lavished on Powergirls buxom figure during her appearances in various comics, suffice to say there's almost always some reference to it when she appears.
