I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Microft word doesn't use the .ODT format, not even the newest version - which I have - it uses .docx format. I can open your files, but I gets tons of error messages, and the formatting gets all weirded up. Maybe it's YOUR copy of microsoft word that is "pirated"?

Also, since when did microsoft word come "out of a box"? I haven't seen a boxed version of either word or microsoft office in years.

For fuck's sake, just make a .txt/.doc file and stop whining. Alternatively, put a second's worth of thought into your writing. Semicolons do not automatically mask the fact that you can't write worth a damn. Based on your writing I have to assume you're (A:) still a high school student or (B:) learning English as a second language (ESL).
If A: I suggest you pay a bit more attention in English class. Also, seriously, are you legally old enough to be on this site? Not that I was when I started reading porn, but really, hypothetical kid. The idea that porn was probably written by someone who isn't legal is a total bonerkill.
If B: There is no shame in saying so. People may volunteer to be your beta readers/editors if you ask for help.

ODT is Ok if you have Libreoffice or Openoffice.org installed. Otherwise it's a nuisance. Both of those are available to download for free, but not everyone has done this and you're guaranteed to lock out some readers, whether it's an "open format" or not. I know that Apple and Microsoft should support it better, but they don't, so stop punishing would-be readers.

I have no idea what you mean by "TXT is a wall of text." Every text editor that I know of, lets you insert hard carriage returns anywhere for blank lines and retains spaces. Any decent word processor will insert these automatically when converting to text. Maybe you're checking these files with Windows notepad program. Don't use that--it's broken; use wordpad instead under Windows.

HTML is fine. I would make that your default.

As an alternative to HTML and TXT, you should consider RTF. RTF is an open format, the file size is not large, it preserves all fonts and formatting, and many programs (including Wordpad and MS-Office) open it natively. LibreOffice and OpenOffice will also read and save as RTF.

Microsoft Word fails. It's an open format. DOC isn't microsoft needs grow a pair.
TXT becomes a wall of text without spaces and linebreaks, I'm not going to restructure it just for the fools who can't use a HTML page.
DOC also has atrocious filesize so I can't include them both.
The HTML version is the best if your word can't open it natively due to preserving the most of the stylizing.

BTW: My word is out of the box and opens it just fine, so I have no idea why you have to download shit, maybe your pirating a bad copy?

In the future, save the file as a .doc or .txt format. When you place it under a OCT, Microsoft Word has to download digital components to make the file work.
