THE KEEPER

Part Three

By Quadhouse

I woke up trying to figure out what I was sleeping on. It was too big to be a pillow. Not to mention too soft and warm. It was also moving.

I was out of the bed and against to wall before I knew it. My mouth had opened to scream when I suddenly recognized what I was looking at. It was Midge's tit. Only a lot bigger than I remember it being. Slowly it all started to come back to me. Midge, magic, all the practice I did last night. It was like a dream. But I wasn't sure it wasn't going to turn into a nightmare.

I noticed that Midge's tit was shaking. Soon her head popped over the far edge. "I thought I felt you get up," she said. "But what are you doing over there? Come back to bed where I can keep you warm."

I swallowed. This was what I wanted. I took a step, then another. Eventually I came to her breast. That was when it happened. My stomach growled, loudly.

As if my stomach's growl was a signal, Midge tit's suddenly shrank to being merely huge. She sat up, her face flaming. "I'll go fix breakfast for you," she said. "You go take a shower and by the time you're finished, the food will be ready."

With that she disappeared. Leaving be puzzled and confused. If I didn't know better I could have sworn that she was making a pass at me. But that couldn't be. She's only a spell. A very complex spell, I'll admit. But just a spell.

Right?

Not being able to figure it out, I went ahead and took a shower. The hot water was very relaxing. It almost felt as if I was getting a massage. With a suspicious thought, I looked at the shower head. Yup. It had changed. I glared at it until it had changed back.

Shaking my head I quickly finished and stepped out. Only to be hit in the face by a towel. After putting my heart back in me chest were it belonged. I took a deep breath an let it slowly out. "Ok," I said. "I know you're mad, but I'm not used to magic yet."

I paused. There was only silence, but I had a feeling that someone or something was listening.

"In fact, I just found out about magic yesterday. So how do you expect me to accept all the changes in my life in must on day? All I'm asking for is a little time. That's all I want. Just some time to get used to this."

The feeling slowly faded.

"Thank you," I said. "I'll try to adjust quickly." I quickly got dressed and went downstairs to eat before anything else happened. On the way down I decided that I'd better get used to magic very fast. I had a feeling that it was just beginning.

In the kitchen, breakfast was waiting for me. Midge was there as well, wearing the same clothes from yesterday. "Don't you have any more clothes to wear," I asked.

She looked down at herself. "What's wrong with these?"

"Nothing's wrong with them," I said. "As long as we don't have company. Otherwise, people will start talking. And that's the last thing we want."

"But I wore the same clothes everyday when I was with your aunt."

"You were with my Aunt?"

She grinned. "Yes, I was. I saw you every time you visited. Didn't you see me?"

I shook my head. There was no way she could have been with Aunt Rose. I would have remembered her. If my parents had even let me visit with her around. "You couldn't have been there," I said. "I would have remembered somebody who looked like you."

"I was there," she insisted.

"There was no one there. The only person I remember being there is Jeeves, Aunt Rose's butler."

"That was me," Midge proudly said. "And I wore the same clothes everyday."

I was stunned. I know I shouldn't have been, this was magic. I stared at her. Trying to understand that the woman in front of me used to be an old man who served my aunt. "I should have known," I groaned. "You had to have been him. You practically told me so when you explained how you came to be."

I sighed.

"As for the clothes. Everybody thought you had several identical suits, and just washed them with the other laundry."

Midge frowned. "But I didn't. I just wore the same clothes over and over. Why wash them with water when magic can keep them spotless?"

I shook my head, tired of arguing. I just wanted to eat my breakfast. I sat at the table and Midge started laying out the food. A bowl of cereal, bacon and eggs, pancakes, a pitcher of milk and one of orange juice. That was a bit much. "Are you trying to make me fatter?"

"No," Midge giggled. "This is fuel for working magic. You have a busy day ahead of you."

"Wait a minute," I said. "I have to do some work today. I promised my boss that I would have the new program finished today." I had, but I also told him he wasn't getting it before the end of the week. I try to keep my promises. "Do you want me to break my word?"

She thought about it. "No," she reluctantly said. "I don't want you to. How long will it take?"

Damn. She had to ask me that question. "No more than a couple of hours," I replied.

She brightened immediately. "'Then, the rest of the day we can work on your magic."

I looked at her, she was only smiled and bounced on her toes. I decided to give up. Midge was determined to teach me magic, and, if what happened in the shower was any indication, the house wanted me to learn as fast as possible. I didn't think things could have gotten worse, but I wasn't saying it. I had learned that lesson years ago.

After breakfast, I groaned my way too my workroom in the basement. Usually a computer programmer has to work in the office. But, since my boss learned that I do better work at home, she let me work there. I only have to show up once a month and for employee meetings.

In my workroom there was two computers, chairs, and one couch. One had access to the internet the other didn't. My boss was security conscious. She would only let me work at home if I did this. She didn't want people to be able to hack my computer from the net. Me, I didn't care. No one had been able to yet.

I sat down at my work computer (the one without the internet access) and started working. After a few minutes I got the feeling that somebody was watching me. I tried to ignore it but the feeling just wouldn't go away. Finally I turned around, it was Midge. "What is it," I said.

"What are you doing," she asked.

"I'm working."

"On what."

"My computer," I said. She had a blank look.

I sighed. "Look," I said, "this is a computer. People invented this machine to help them more complicated work faster. It's sorta like you."

Midge cocked her head to the side.

"Look," I explained. "My great to the third grandfather, and Aunt Rose created you to make living here easier for them. Right?"

She nodded.

"That's what computers or for. You did the things that they couldn't or didn't have time for. Computers do the same thing, basically."

"That's not all a computer does, isn't it," she asked.

"No it isn't," I replied. "They also help people who wouldn't ordinarily be able to do the same things an expert would be able to. Or the give them the ability to do more work than one person normally could do by himself."

"So, what are you doing?"

"Me? I write programs that make them even easier to use, harder to break into, or to give them more abilities and power."

"You can do all that," she breathed.

"With the right program and enough memory, you can get a computer to do anything," I replied.

She looked at the other computer. "Why do you have two of them if you only work on one?"

"The second one I use mainly to play with," I said. At her blank look I continued. "Usually I surf the net. Looking for anything of interest as well as checking my favorite sites."

"Is that all you do with that one?"

"No. I also do research with that one. There's almost nothing you can't find on the net. If you know where to look."

She looked at the computer then she looked at me. She started to blush. "Could you do me a favor," she asked.

"What."

"Could you teach us?" She was blushing now.

"Us," I asked. "Us who?"

"Me and the house," she said. Her whole face bright red.

"Why?"

Midge looked down. "The house can't move and I can't leave. The only way we can learn about the outside world is trough the TV, radio, and whatever the currant Keeper knows. We would really appreciate another source of information."

I blinked. I didn't know she didn't have much contact with the outside. "Sure. I'll teach you." With that, I sat her down and proceeded to teach her as much about the interned as I felt she needed.

A few of hours later I felt a tap on my shoulder. Turning I saw that Midge was still on the other computer. So who was tapping me? Turning further I found a tall, leggy blonde with breast as large as her head. She was wearing a white crop top and a pair of tight blue shorts. I stared at her for a few moments before I yelped and landed on the other side of the room.

Midge looked up, startled, and saw the blonde woman walking toward me with her hand extended. "What's going on here?" I asked. "Who is she?"

"She is a construct," Midge answered as she turned back to the computer. "She and others like her does whatever is needed while I'm busy elsewhere. I suggest you take what she is holding in her hand."

I looked back at the woman. She did have something in her hand. I carefully took it from her. It was a note. It read: Lunch is ready. I looked at the woman, then back at the card. "Don't they speak?"

"Not unless it's necessary."

I sighed and motioned for the blonde to lead. She had a nice butt.

Midge appeared as I finished lunch. "Are you ready to start you lessons," she asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be," I replied.

For the next two weeks, that's how my life went. Work in the morning and magic in the afternoon. I had just gotten used to my new life when I had a disturbing thought. "Midge," I said one evening. "When I first asked you about magic you said that there was three types of magic users, right?"

She warily nodded.

"That just covers types. You didn't say anything about groups. I take it that there are several and that they don't agree on many things."

She nodded again.

"One of those things just happens to be who should be in possession of the house."

She nodded.

"So," I said. "These groups probably know who I am, when I moved in and are waiting for me to leave the protection of the house." I paused for breath. "Just when were you going to tell me this? I mean, this is my life we're talking about here. There's no telling what they would do to me the first time I left the house."

"I don't think they would try something this soon," whispered Midge. "I believe you have more time before they actually try to hurt you. They should try to win you to their perspective sides first."

"That's what I thought," I said. "But you should have told me. Now I have only a week to learn and or make some defensive spells. Not to mention some offensive ones."

"I'm sorry," she replied.

I sighed. "You did what you thought was best. Now, I suppose, we should get to work." With a shrug, Midge started to teach me how to launch and defend myself from magic attacks.

Elsewhere in the city, forces were gathering. Some of them were against me. Some didn't care about me. Some even felt sorry for me. The only thing they could agree on, was that I should not be allowed to remain in possession of the house and the node of magic located there.

"We should have removed him when he first left the house," a figure in a white robe said. It was standing in a large room. Several similar robed figures were in the room. Only one was seated. That figure gave off a feeling of extreme age.

"Why," the seated figure said.

"Honored Mother," answered the first figure. "He is an unknown. We don't know what he will do or who he will align himself with. We should neutralize him before he can give the house to the wrong powers."

"And what shall happen to the house, Adrienne?"

"A new, appropriate guardian will be chosen," Adrienne replied. She didn't notice the other figures making themselves less noticeable. "A guardian who is sympathetic to the needs of the people."

"And who would pick this guardian?"

Adrienne blinked. "Why we would, Honored Mother."

She sighed. "While I appreciate your loyalty, Adrienne. I can't approve of this plan." She shifted in her seat. "While we don't know anything about this guardian, he hasn't done anything to warrant our removal of him. And we need to remember that the previous guardian did choose him as her replacement."

She made a small gesture and a figure stepped into the room behind Adrienne. "Now, you observed him when he finally left the house. What were your impressions?"

Adrienne, shocked that her proposal was denied, stared speaking immediately. "I don't believe he has been taught anything. He wasn't aware of any of the probes directed toward him by us or any of the others watching him. He was protected by a shield. But it was crude and low powered. I think he created it using popular sci-fi conceptions. It might be better for him if we sought him out."

The woman nodded. Accepting what Adrienne had said. "Carolyn, what was your impressions."

Adrienne was startled. She didn't know that Honored Mother had assigned another team to watch him. She turned as Carolyn approached. "Honored Mother," she began, "while Adrienne performed a thorough analysis of the guardian, she failed to note one thing."

"And that was," the Honored Mother prompted.

"His outer shield was just that," Carolyn answered, " an outer shield. That shield was there to mislead anyone who chose to probe him. I couldn't get past the second shield. Most people would only check to see if and how well he was shielded. Not if he had more than one shield."

"How did you find this?"

"I never stop with a first glance," Carolyn said. "I also sensed a massive well of power in him. But I could only get the faintest of traces before they faded away. It was almost as if he was hiding his power. But I couldn't sense a shield hiding is power. So he was either hiding his power, or, his power is being hid from him. But I can't see how that was possible without the act itself being detected."

"That is interesting," the seated woman said. "Adrienne, why didn't you sense this?"

"I underestimated him, Honored Mother," Adrienne said. "It won't happen again."

"Why did you underestimate him?"

"I allowed my first impressions to color influence my work. I didn't allow for him to be more skilled. I only have one question. Where did he learn these skills from? There was no one to teach him in the house. The previous guardian had died by the time he moved in and they hadn't spent that much time together before her death."

"That is a good question. We'll learn the answer in time. For now, you are dismissed." The two women bowed and left the room.

Adrienne and Carolyn walked down the hall. They hadn't seen each other for a couple of weeks. Even though Adrienne had been a member of the Sisterhood, Carolyn was the stronger. Adrienne was only a mid level witch while Carolyn was an Adept. After a few moments Adrienne said, "So, you were sent to watch him too."

"Yes," she answered. "I guess she wanted as many different opinions as she could get."

Adrienne nodded. "Did he really have two shields?"

"I wish he didn't. I don't know of any person or group that can put two different shields on the same person. Do you?"

Adrienne shook her head. "We're in trouble aren't we," she asked.

"I don't know," Carolyn answered. "It all depends on who gets to him first. There was at least eight groups that I could sense. I don't know how many decided to scry instead of being there in person. I fear what the future holds."

Elsewhere in the city, a five-star restaurant to be exact, another meeting was taking place. Only one table was occupied and most of the staff had been told to go away and not come back until called. The few who had been allowed to stay, where also the only ones who knew what was going on. They also wished they hadn't and were very far away.

Sitting at the only occupied table were five people. Four men and one woman. All but one of the men were in good clothes. There men were wearing expensive dark Italian suits, the woman was wearing the latest high fashion The last man was in a T-shirt and blue jeans. The others didn't seem to mind. But, for some reason, nobody could focus on any of their faces. It was if shadows were clinging were there should be no shadows.

"What did the reports say," asked the man to the woman's right.

"The present guardian," answered the man across from him, "is a fool. He doesn't have any protective spells worth speaking of and he can's sense probes. I believe the only reason he's lasted as long as he has is because nobody knew he was being considered as a candidate."

"So, he's ripe for the plucking," remarked the man on the ladies left.

"Now Charles," the lady replied. "We can't take him yet. We need to make him come to us. Or we'll never have his complete trust."

"How do you propose we do that, Claire," asked the first man.

Claire sneered at the man. "It's really simple," she said. "We convince him that it's in his best interest to follow us. Because there's no telling how many are against him."

"That might actually work," the last man said. "But, we have to be careful. This man is not an idiot or a fool."

"And just how do you know that," the second man all but snarled. "You know what the reports say."

"Easy, Richard," the man answered with a smile. "You see, unlike some people, I actually went to have a look at the new guardian. That is how I know he isn't what we expected."

Claire started to look interested. "What's so different about him, Larry?"

"Well," began Larry. "For one, he had more than one shield."

"What!" Everybody shouted. "But that's impossible," Claire said.

"I know what we've been taught," Larry said. "But it is true. This man has somehow figured out how to make more than one shield from the same person cover the same item."

"We have got to get this guy," the first man shouted as he leaned on the table.

"And walk into any surprises he might have that we don't know about! I think not," Claire said. "I am going to wait and see what else he has, don't you agree, Raymond."

Raymond leaned back in his chair. "I still think we ought to get him," he mumbled.

"We know, Raymond," Claire said. "But it would be wiser if we waited to se what else he can do." She turned to Larry. "What do you suggest we do?"

"Here's my plan," he started.

Needless to say, I knew nothing of this. I was just happy to get home without anybody challenging me. I had turned in the project I was working on and received my next assignment. Even so I was worried. I had felt the probes and a few had gotten past the outer shell and to the second, but none had gotten past that one. Even so, the fact that somebody was suspicious enough to probe past the first shield worried me. But there was nothing I could do about it so I tried to put it out of my mind and get on with my life. Even Midge agreed with me. The only thing I could do at this time was to wait, and let them make the first move. But I didn't have to like it.

For the next two weeks, life was simple. I got up, worked on the computer, ate lunch, and practiced my magic. Only two things changed. One was Midge's and the house's interest in the computer. They only knew the basics, so they thought it a simple tool. Useful, but limited. That was before they discovered all the different types of information and entertainment on the Internet. Then it was all I could do just to check my favorite sites. Midge occasionally took breaks either to cook, help me practice or to sleep with me. The house, on the other hand, didn't need any of those. If I wasn't on and Midge wasn't then the house was. The only time the computer got any down time was when I was performing weekly maintenance checks. (I usually insisted on a couple of hours of downtime after each check.)

The other was me. Actually, it was my body. I hadn't noticed at first. But my body had slowly been changing since I started working magic. I had lost fat and gained a little muscle mass as well as definition and tone. My eyes had gained a magnetic look. At least, that's what every girl at work says. There was another, more personal, change.

My dick.

It had grown. From the seven inches I was satisfied with to twelve inches in length. It had even thickened a bit. When asked, Midge just told me not to worry about it. There was nothing I could do to change it. Anything I tried would, eventually, wear off. So I lived with it. I just wished she could have looked me in the eyes while she told me all this. I'm really starting to worry about her.

So, things were simple. Nobody attacked, the watchers watched, and everybody waited. I was beginning wonder if they had forgotten about me. Then there was a knock on the door. It happened right after lunch. I looked at Midge. "Where you expecting someone?"

She looked at me with a puzzled expression.

I shook my head. "I'll answer the door," I said as I started that way. I opened the door and received a surprise. Standing there with two suitcases was my friend Lisa Weaver. I hadn't seen her since she left for college. She had green eyes and brown hair. She had never been comfortable with her height of 5'11". Even though she stood straight. She was wearing a white blouse and a pair of blue jeans.

"Damn," she said. "If I had known you moving into a house of your own would have changed you this much I would have bought you one years ago."

I blushed. "Well, I've been working on a few things."

Her eyebrow went up. "You? Working out? I though I've never see the day."

"I never said I wouldn't work out. I just said I was happy the way I was. This is just a side effect."

"Yeah, yeah," she said. "Now, are you going to invite me in or do I have to stand here all day?"

I motioned her in. "What's with the bags," I asked as she entered.

"I need a place to stay that isn't with my folks," she answered. "They're a little ticked right now."

"What happened to college?"

"That's why they're mad," she said. "I had to drop out because of a few personal problems. That and the lack of money. Not all of us are born geniuses."

"Not all of us are," I agreed as I led the way into the house. "But those that are, are obviously better than the rest." When she didn't respond to our usual argument I turned to look back at her.

She was staring in shock at Midge. She had just came around the corner, curious at who I was letting into the house. At least I hope she was only curious. She was wearing her usual shirt and shorts with the bottoms of her boobs hanging out of the shirt.

"Lisa, meet Midge," I began weakly. "Midge, Lisa. Midge was here when I got here. She used to work for my aunt. Aunt Rose thought her butler could use some help around the house because he was getting on in years. She hired Midge because she didn't want her to be taken advantage of."

Lisa didn't say anything. She just kept staring.

"Uh, Lisa. Could you please say something," I said after a few moments.

"Those can't be real," she said. "They're two big."

I didn't know how tense I had became until then. I was even able to smile. "That's what I said the first time I saw them. But there real. She has some kind of genetic disorder I believe. Gigantomastica I think it's called."

She blinked and turned to face me. "You're sleeping with her."

I know they could have seen my blush from the moon. "No," I almost shouted. "Aunt Rose would come back from the dead if I even thought of that. How could you ask that?"

She grinned. "Because I know you, remember. Who was it that helped you find some of the sights you visit?"

I remembered. "Yeah, but this doesn't happen everyday. So I decided only to have a business relationship."

She nodded, but I could tell she didn't believe me. "So," she said changing the subject. "Can I stay with you?"

I couldn't think of any reason why couldn't. "Sure," I said with a shrug. "Midge will show you which room you can use." As I watched the two walk away I suddenly realized that my life just got a little more complicated. Like I needed that.

To be continued.
