Kat opened the book to the index and ran her finger excitedly down
the list of new stories. "Sally's Sensational Senses" she said
softly, "That sounds interesting."

*Sally sought subtle ways to see the strange shimmers which shone
from the strange sack. She had serendipitously stumbled upon the
silvery bag...*

Kat found herself flipping the pages faster and faster as she read
the story about a girl with incredible eye sight, hearing, smell,
and sense of touch. Sally used her abilities, which she had gained
from a magic sack, to become the best scout in the kings army.

By the time she finished the story, the world was already in sharper
focus. She looked up an found that she could see the tiny particles of
dust which hung in the air even when they were not illuminated by a
beam of sun through the window. She breathed in deeply and was astounded
at the different smells that surrounded her. She closed her eyes and
savored the scent of the old wood in the floor and the slowly building
aroma of the dinner that her father was beginning to work on all the
way across the house.

Keeping her eyes closed, she let all the little sounds which surrounded
her filter in. It was an overwhelming cacophony at first, but slowly
her incredible brain sorted through the mess of noise and she was able
to focus on the sounds than an individual squirrel's claws made as it
climbed up the side of a tree in her back yard. If she hadn't read
Isabel's Invigorating Intelligence already, she wasn't sure she would
have been able to handle all of the new sensations, but she quickly
learned to incorporate them into her existence. While she wasn't always
focused on everything she was taking in, she was at least aware of it
all at some level. She doubted she would ever be able to be surprised.
"I'm like Daredevil." She said excitedly. "Except I can see." She
giggled.

When she pulled out her phone and looked at the time she realized
that much less time had passed than she had been expecting. Her
speed reading was a real asset.
