"My hands have been having trouble keeping up with my brain
lately." Kat mused as she flipped to the story called
"Daniela's Dangerous Dexterity".

*Deniela defiantly dared Derrick to dive at her. Despite,
Derrick's dauntingly long sword, Daniela dodged and dipped
her dagger into him, drawing it back dripping.*

The story that Kat motored through even faster than the last
one was about a bandit queen named Daniela who's skill with a
knife and agility seemed to know no bound. It was gratuitously
violent, and Kat was rather glad when she finished it.

She cast about the room for a suitable test of her new ability
until her eyes finally settled on an abandoned knitting project.
Her aunt was very into knitting and had given her a set of needles
and a bunch of different color yarn. Kat had tried to make a scarf,
but gotten bored and frustrated pretty quickly. Now she went over
to where her needles were gathering dust and picked them up along
with the half-finished scarf that was still attached to them.

Almost of their own volition, her hands began to knit. The needles
clicked faster than even Kat's aunt had ever been able to make them,
and she was only building speed as she got the hang of it. Before
she knew it she was done with the row, then the next three rows,
then after just three minutes of frenzied knitting, the entire scarf.
"Whoa." She breathed, tying it off and looking at her handywork.
The first half of the scarf, the one she had made in two months of
desultory on-again off-again work before she gave up on the whole
project was lumpy and uneven, the obvious work of a novice. The
second half, the one she had done in the last 3 minutes, looked
perfect and regular almost as if a machine had done it.

She twirled her kneedles around the fingers of both hands in a
complex pattern and grinned.

She turned back to the book and opened up the index, excited for
her next read.

What will she read next?
