
Melissa was an optimist. Despite the way her last few dozen
relationships had wound up, she was putting herself right
back out there, hopeful that she would finally be able to
find lasting love. Even though she was nearing 50 and still
hadn't found Mr. Right, she was hopeful that she would eventually
find a man able to handle her.

Just looking at Melissa, it was impossible to guess her true age.
She looked far more like a college student than a woman in her
late 40s. The slow or nonexistent aging was one of the benefits
of her job, and Melissa tried to maintain a youthful mindset to
go along with her appearance and energy. Anyone who saw her with
her date tonight would likely assume that they had a big age
gap, and they would be right, but in the wrong direction.

She had just finished touching up her subtle makeup when
her phone lit up where she had placed it face up on her
vanity. Calvin was there to pick her up. She put her phone
in her purse walked down stairs
